In 2002 Filir became the owner of the 7.648m2 area property (the property is located in the area of the former business complex of the Vuteks factory, which manufactured textile articles). The complex was severely damaged during the Croatian war of Independence, and therefore required extensive investments in its reconstruction and renovation of facilities which led to its current state of functionality.
In 2003 Filir expanded the property and added 13,432 m2, which were also devastated during the war. By reconstructing and building new facilities, new investments have been made , but the property was finally made functional to serve all the purposes it is required to serve.
Access roads , five thousand m2 of new facilities and a customs terminal, with a size of 3500 m2, were built. Works , applying to the free zones, which are regulated by the Law, were carried out. Filir currently owns 20.080 m2 of space, which include 10.000 m2 of closed business space. Filir has met all the necessary infrastructural requirements, such as sewerage system, gas, water, filters, 900 KW of electric power, telecommunications, etc.
Business spaces are directly leased to the users of the Podunavska free zone, and Filir manages those spaces in terms of factory maintenance, infrastructural maintenance, property insurance, etc. Filir (as one of the founders of the free zone) reinvests the gained profits in the Podunavska free zone,the development of logistics and distribution.

There are several free zone companies, which are headquartered in Italy, like: subcontractors of the following companies: Benetton, Vukovar tekstill Ltd. Vukovar, Nardi Printing Ltd. Vukovar, as well as the Bauder Ltd. Vukovar company , which is the regional representative for building insulation materials. Bauder Ltd. Vukovar currently employs over 250 people.

The majority of the companies ( about 99% of them) is export-oriented, and this is a policy we wish to carry out. Our goal is to attract more clients engaged in manufacturing activities, so that we can employ new people, which would be of great importance to this area.
