Pez Blister

Pez Blister represent the most famous and most popular little box for candies in the world. It is a small box in the form of a lighter from whose head at the push candies come out. Pretty cool, right? Pez Blisters are filled with Pez candies of different and funny flavors. First Pez Blisters was made by Oscar Uxa. At first Pez candies were exclusively intended for adults and it was until the mid-fifties, when a breakthrough in the U.S. market was achieved, that the Austrian manufacturer got the idea to put head of Mickey Mouse or Hello Kitty at the top where at the pressure of the thumb came out candies, and that way it became the center of children’s wishes. From year 1955 more than 450 plastic dispensers were produced with different heads and thousands of combinations. Collectors cult was created so now rare PEZ ‘Lighters’ are sold for a few thousands of dollars at auctions. The highest price achieved the one with the soft-headed Mickey Mouse which never came to the market because it stopped in the prototype stage. For $ 7000 it was purchased by a collector from California. How much dispensers have become desirable commodity and immensely more popular than candies for which they were made, demonstrates the fact that there are several annual conventions where PEZ fans exchange their toys.
